NEW YORK, NY – You might be familiar with my list of online tools to run, market and manage your Internet business; or you might have just seen it for the first time today. I’m adding something new to the list. It’s called the LSIGraph, and it’s free for a limited number of searches.
I’ll give you an example of how it works and how it might help your web pages rank better for online searches. For a quick visual on Latent Semantic Indexing, see this very old post.
Note: I was given three initial searches for free, and then I needed to register for twenty more. Beyond that the tool wanted me to pay a subscription fee.
LSI allows Google to determine what a web page is about by not just relying on keywords but by validating that a particular keyword has certain meaning by identifying the presence of related keywords. For instance, in order for Google to know that the word “Apple” is related to the electronics, it will compare other related words which should also be present such as “iphone”, ipad”, “device”, “computers”, “electronics” and so on. If Google does not see these words, the algorithm may confuse the word for meaning fruit, especially in the words “fruit”, “food”, or “diet” are present in or near the content.
(Additional Note: I pretty much only discuss Google because, realistically, no other search engines really matters that much)
LSI improves the algorithms ability to pin-point a topic and its related topic or topics. For more information or to visualize this, see this very old post.
This tool returned the following list of keywords and keyword phrases and strings when I searched for the words “Used Cars” implying that if I wanted my page to show up well in online searches I should ensure some of these related words and strings are also present on the page I’m shooting for good rankings to be achieved. This is pretty much old-school SEO – but the tool seems new.

Now this does NOT mean I should little my web pages with these keywords or stuff a keywords meta tag with all of these words and expect success. But what it does provide, is some ideas on things that should be mentioned or discussed on pages I’m wishful to rank for terms related to used cars.
