*** Here Is A List Of Some Of The Best Domain Name Resources Available ***NEW YORK, NY – I hate to sound like I am complaining, because no-one asked me to look into this, but I am pretty confident I just inspected the longest list of broken, junk, parked, meaningless web sites I’ve seen in a single sitting. Long, grueling, and very unrewarding we’ll call it – as I’ve learned not much more than I already suspected before, which is that most of these new gTLD domains seem like hypothetical, wishful-thinking lotto tickets that will likely be bets (or investments) that never mature.
Listed below are 424 new gTLD domain names which have changed hands this year and which have been reported as public sales according to NameBio including what’s happening with them as far as use and development. These are not hand registrations, these are public sales from one registrant to another. This list reflects $1,536,568.00 in domain sales (that’s $1.5M missing from ordinary domain business – wondering why things are slow? This is where all the play-money is going).
The most common domain to change hands was/is .club according to this list, with 93 transactions being in the .club extension (about 23% of the list). The second most common domain to change hands is .global with 63 transactions (about 15% of the list). (Worth noting is I feel .global holds the majority of what appeared to be quality development.) A good 49 of these domains are actually developed into working websites (a very few nice ones) which consist of more than just a single lander page (so about 12% of them) yet about half of those look like serious sites – but the other half are indeed developed into something of substance, so they are listed as developed. The rest of them fail to load, are parked, for sale, consist only of a landing or placeholder page, or load a blank or near empty page.
So without further ado, here’s to $1.5 million worth of alternative, potentially second best, somewhat difficult to remember web site addresses.

I think orders of magnitude more of the ‘play money’ from domainers is going into crypto than ngtlds.
What you don’t mention is that the average sale price is $3,623.98.
That seems quite high. I haven’t looked at the average sales price across 424 domains in other TLDs, but $3600 is not bad.
Thank you for your comment Bill. I guess that is a very good point if you are looking at them from an investors point of view. I’m looking at them from more of an angle as if there is any real long term benefit in participating in the exchange and trading of them, at all, etc… I tend to think or suspect that these sales are mostly between domainer-type circles as well as some companies who feel they are getting the jump on slower acting competitors; but for the most part, I don’t know if that is a true retail value of the domain names, but more of a temporary domainer-value (because if they never take off and never really go mainstream [consumer respect and comfort-ability] kind of like an entire waste). So for me, this is a good way of measuring whether people are buying these names and actually using them to create true businesses, or if their marketability consists only of buying them and selling them to make a quick buck; that will not help the gTLD industry or market at all or bring alternative dots into the foresight of serious consumers looking to acquire an address to build their business. It will just lengthen the time-frame that this market of unusual purchasable words with dots continues. I’m more interested in the substance of their existence, rather then what they may be worth for what is likely to be a short period of time (IMO).
