NEW YORK, NY – If you have become accustomed to following my Internet ramblings, you’ll have heard me talking about overall declining Google Traffic and the heavily improving Facebook referrals I see while monitoring websites.
Today, I figured I would share an example with you, because often ‘images speak louder than words’, and while I find myself with some extra time today, why not share a screenshot? If you are not yet focusing your efforts on Facebook and are still playing the be-all-end-all Google game (for traffic generation), you need to shift focus, at least a little bit, and start concentrating on how sharing your content on Facebook could bring back some of that lost traffic, especially if you’ve got something interesting to share.
Screenshot of referrals from Facebook (becoming more and more common):
It just needs to wind up on the right person or organization page, and you could wind up getting days of traffic from a single story or piece of content. What you’re looking at in the screenshot above is referrals from Facebook using the free traffic statistics program StatCounter.com, which is listed in my collection of helpful tools. I actually like it more than Google Analytics for viewing real time traffic.
