PALM BEACH, FL – Elliot Silver, an expert in the specialized business of domain name investing, recently penned an article where he shared the three investing tools he uses every single morning and how they play a pivotal role in his success.
No matter where I am or what I have planned for the day, I spend some time looking at upcoming domain name auctions,” he said. “The time I spend varies depending on my schedule, but on a regular workday where I am at home, I will probably spend between 1-2 hours on domain auction research. In order to find domain names I am interested in buying, I primarily use three domain investing tools for research.”
The first on Silver’s go-to list is Dropping.pro, a paid tool that is approximately $50 a month, that he utilizes to automatically email him lists of available domains – either currently for sale or coming to auction – within certain parameters that he has preset. In addition, he also uses this versatile tool for other types of searches as well, such as finding leads.
I recently heard about JustExpired.net that I have been trying out and is emailing me daily picks. It seems fine for now, but I have been a little busy lately so my search interest has declined anyway.
Next is ExpiredDomains.net, a free tool that – according to the website’s description – “gathers all the information you need to find good Expired Domains that are Pending Delete and you can Backorder. Depending on the domain extension you can search through thousands of domains every day before they get released to the public and pick what you like.” Silver notes that there can be some degree of overlap between the results returned by ExpiredDomains.net and Dropping.pro, but this can be minimized by adjusting their respective search filters.
ExpiredDomains.net is a big favorite of mine as well. When I was scanning every day, this was my preferred service for finding expired domains in real time.
And finally, the last tool on the list is DotDB, a tool that enables users to search for available domains based on specific keywords; an example given by Silver would be that there are currently 72 domains with the keyword “DomainInvesting” in them, according to DotDB search results. The tool has both free and paid plan tiers, with the ability to perform unlimited searches with the latter option.
https://dotdb.com looks super interesting and I will be playing with this one for a while for sure. The user interface on this one is very impressive so if it works as good as it looks its going to be a real winner.
