PALM BEACH – Things at SEDO are usually fairly quiet. Outside of their weekly sales list releases for domain names sold, I hear very little from the sales venue, which acts sort of like an MLS system for domain names. However, the last few weeks has been different.
On Tuesday May 7, 2019, Ron Jacksoon’s DNJournal.com reported what was characterized as a “major change” at Sedo, which would eliminate the minimum sale fee that takes a big chunk out of proceeds from smaller domain sellers (those selling domain names for a under a few hundred dollars). Related to that change, Sedo also announced that it would be lowering the minimum bid requirement for the remainder of 2019; that’s the majority of the year.
Today brought more good news for domain name sellers as the venue would be offering a one-time 50% discount on a homepage showcase listings.
Instead of the regular rate of $39, it’s now just $19.50 to showcase and rotate domains on the Sedo homepage. This is a lot of discounts and price changes for a two ween period.
What say you?
What’s with all the recent promotions at Sedo this month?

What is the point of advertising at Sedo anyway? I can see only registries-owned overpriced ngTLDs in these lists.
